Moths, like shooting-stars in the headlights
Drawn by the unknown
Dead in the blink of an eye
Small rice-paper corpses on my windshield
Animated by the unfeeling air
Wings of parchment and bone
We dance in the fire
Sparks take to the sky
We’re drawn to the flame
Like we’re anxious to die
All fears are erased
Only heat still remains
The warnings are null
While blood boils in our veins
We can’t see where we’re going
We callously dive
Who cares if we perish
If we weren’t even alive
Recklessly throwing ourselves to the altar we’ve made
The joshua trees onlook as I’m driving
Through Mojave alone
Judging the company I keep
The only source of bright illumination
Beckons with a ‘devil may care’
And ‘morals aren’t set in stone’
Nights in the desert are cold
Hold on to the light
Really good, heavy, darker rock with a sound that will surely refuse to become dated by the passing of time. To me, it sounds somewhat like a darker Suzi Quatro, Joan Jett, or Pat Benatar might. I highly recommend this album. The choruses and ‘chanting’ (for lack of a better term) are catchy and compelling to sing along to (especially the chorus of Golden Serpents). Vocals, song structures, and band chemistry are great. Thanks, Dool! I look forward to your next offering. 8/10. Alrihkh
I remember hearing this album way back when it just came out, listening to it on YT on repeat. And now I have it in 2022 on CD! Excellent for fans of prog metal, with a nice balance of genres. PunkGalFury

A mind-bending psychedelic rock opera with the songs to match, “Xafyre Dynasty” has its controls set for the heart of the sun. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 24, 2022
This album might need a few spins before you hear the true depth of this slowly building up album that makes a wonderful finish on The Machine. GazpachoX
